Welcome to GospelTrace, a tool designed to help you trace the history of redemption from Genesis to Revelation.
How to start?
Select a biblical book from the sidebar (or the hamburger menu on mobile). You will see a list of pericopes (passages). By selecting one, the right panel will show you:
- The redemptive phrase and main theme: A theological summary of the text block.
- How it points to Christ: The redemptive connection between the studied text and the cross.
- Pastoral Application: Ways to preach or teach the passage.
- Comparator (Moralism vs Christ-centric): Vital help to avoid preaching characters as mere behavior models without redemption.
Glossary of Connection Modes
Our tool tags each passage based on how it points to Christ (you can filter them in the sidebar):
- Direct Messianic Prophecy: Texts that explicitly announce the coming Christ.
- Typology / Figure: Characters, events, or institutions that prefigure Christ's work (e.g., the tabernacle, sacrifices, David).
- Covenant Promise: Passages developing God's great unconditional covenants fulfilled in Jesus.
- Need for Redemption: Texts (very common in Judges or Kings) showing human corruption and failure crying out for a perfect Savior.
- Theme of Redemption: God's historical actions rescuing His people, acting as a foretaste of the great rescue at Calvary.
- Christ as Wisdom: Particularly in Wisdom Literature (Proverbs, Ecclesiastes), where true sanity is only found in the fear of the Lord, incarnate in Jesus.
- Explicit Mention: Applicable mostly to the New Testament, directly naming Jesus and His cross.
Shortcuts and Features
- Reading passages: Click on the large "Citation Title" on the right to read the full passage (works with BibleGateway API).
- Night Mode: Use the moon 🌙 (or sun ☀) icon at the top right.
- Concentration Mode: Use the book 📖 button at the top to hide menus and focus on the text.
- Random Dice 🎲: If you tap the dice at the top of the screen, the system will randomly pick a Bible passage and show its Christ-centered connection. Useful for serendipitous devotionals.
